Incontinence Product Information
Disposable briefs are designed to handle heavy urinary and bowel incontinence. Briefs will hold approximately 3 to 4 cups of urine.
Protective underwear is similar to real underwear. They provide protection for heavy urinary incontinence and will hold approximately 2 cups of urine.
Belted undergarments have no front or back, they can be worn either way. Depending on the absorbency level, they will hold approximately 1 to 2 cups of urine.
Bladder Control Pads are available in different absorbency levels and different lengths. They will hold approximately 1/4 to 1-1/2 cups of urine. Male guards are available for men as well.
Incontinence products should be changed out frequently to avoid leakage, skin irritation and breakdown. The absorbency level determines the amount of liquid a product will hold.
If you're in need of adult briefs
. finding your correct size is as easy as 1-2-3.
1. Measure the hips or waist, whatever is larger. Measure hipbone to hipbone and over the stomach.
2. After obtaining the hipbone to hipbone measurement, double the measurement and add two inches.
Example: Hipbone to hipbone = 22
22 x 2 = 44 + 2 = 46
46 measures into a large brief
3. Sizes of briefs
Youth = 15 22 (White)
Small = 20 31 (Green)
Medium = 32- 44 (White)
Large = 45 58 (Blue)
X-Large = 59 64 (Beige)
Need a size larger than the X-Large
. you should look into our Pant Liners, they have a full-length adhesive strip and can be worn inside your own underwear. Or you can purchase Snap Pants or Mesh Pants from a Medical Supply Store. We offer a variety of Pant Liners from very small ones for light stress incontinence or "dribbling", to large super absorbent overnight type products.
How to put on an adult brief
. again it's as easy as 1-2-3!
1. Brief Positioning
Position the brief so that the top tape tabs are lined up with your hipbones.
2. Tug Technique
Fold the wings of the front panel back to bring the leg cuffs outward. Pull the panel up snug between the legs until the leg elastic is resting in the crease of the groin area. This will prevent leaking and redness in the inner groin area.
3. Tape Tabs
Always fasten the bottom tape tabs first on an upward angle. This will form a secure seal around the buttocks. Fasten the top tabs on a downward angle.
